Checking information for the children to be screened in the program
All children with suspected congenital heart diseases in the province will be screened for free and receive treatment counseling from specialist doctors. For the cases in difficult circumstances, Viettel Thua Thien Hue will guide them to complete their applications for assistance so that the children will receive free surgery under the program.
Since 2011, more than 6,000 children in nearly 40 provinces and cities nationwide have been screened, with more than 1,000 cases identified as congenital heart diseases, and many children with heart diseases in difficult circumstances are sponsored for medical treatment.
According to the representative of Viettel Thua Thien Hue, this is the first time the "Heart for Children" program has been implemented in Thua Thien Hue and about 1,500 children have been screened. Previously, the program supported surgery for more than 10 children with congenital heart diseases in difficult circumstances in the area.
Many of them make a complete recovery and grow well. This is a great encouragement for the program.
