A rare and precious pig-tailed macaque released back to the forest
That was the information confirmed by Mr. Tran Xuan Hai, Deputy Director of Phong Dien Nature Reserve Management Board on November 4.
Pig-tailed macaque returning to the forest environment
Accordingly, the Forest Protection Department of Phu Vang District in collaboration with Phong Dien Nature Reserve Management Board released the pig-tailed macaque back to the natural environment after 10 days of receiving and taking care of it.
Previously, the Forest Protection Department of Phu Vang District received a pig-tailed macaque individual handed over by Mr. Nguyen Tung from My Khanh village, Phu Dien commune (Phu Vang) with the desire to release it back to the natural environment. This rare and precious macaque has the scientific name macaca leonina, belongs to IIB group. It weighs 5 kg and is in good health.
