Banh Hue to be displayed

TTH.VN - Hue Culture Museum will organize an exhibition of Banh Hue (lit. Hue cakes, but in fact it refers to a wide range of sweet or savory snacks and dessert treats) to introduce a unique feature in Hue culinary culture.

Banh Hue: cheap and exquisite

Tempting colors of banh Hue.

The gallery will show about 20 kinds of Banh Hue made from such materials as rice flour, tapioca and mung beans.

In the Vietnamese culinary treasure, the Banh Hue is famous for its variety of delicacies, such as: banh beo (bloating fern-shaped cake), banh nam (steamed rice dumpling with shrimp), banh loc (tapioca dumpling with shrimp and pork), banh phu the (conjugal cake made from tapioca, coconut and mung beans) and different types of cakes dedicated to kings. Made by skillful hands of Hue women, these delicacies are very popular with domestic and foreign tourists.

As planned, the display will be held at the end of May.
