The training program on implementing the smoke-free tourist destination model, which has just been organized by the Hue Monuments Conservation Center in collaboration with the Legal Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on July 22, is the activity that kicks off the implementation of this model.

Officials and employees of Hue Monuments Conservation Center heard experts share about the harmful effects of tobacco and some models of smoke-free tourist destinations in some countries around the world; experience of Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi, in implementing the model of a smoke-free tourist destination. This is a typical locality of Hanoi in implementing models and solutions to build a smoke-free environment and limit the harmful effects of tobacco.

After the training session, Hue Monuments Conservation Center will study, build and deploy a number of models and solutions towards building relics into smoke-free tourist destinations.

Smoke-free attractions are public places for sightseeing and tourism purposes without smoking, selling, or marketing tobacco throughout the campus. This is to create a clean and safe environment; ensure the right of non-smokers to breathe smoke-free fresh air; reduce the risk of fire and explosion; protect the tourist landscape; create a civilized tourism environment; attract tourists; and help reduce tobacco use, etc.
