Celebrating the 70th Traditional Day anniversary of Former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos
TTH.VN - On October 27th, the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association celebrated the 70th anniversary of Former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos (October 30th, 1949 - October 30th, 2019). Mr. Viengxay Phommachanh - Consulate General of the Lao PDR in Danang and numerous representatives of provincial agencies, departments and veterans who used to fight and work in Laos attended the ceremony.
The provincial leaders presented congratulatory flowers to the provincial Former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos
At the ceremony, the veterans recalled their old memories. In the protection and love of Lao tribes, the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts had contributed to the victory of Lao revolution, and at the same time, supported Laos to build and stabilize the country after the war was over.
In Thua Thien Hue, the Liaison for former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts was established on October 22nd, 2010 to continue the spirit of work sharing between the two countries Vietnam and Laos and promote the glorious tradition and the achievements the previous generations have achieved. The Liaison currently has 350 members, 55 families of whom have sponsored 2 to 3 Lao students.
On this occasion, the Liaison, its sub-chapters and excellent individuals were commended by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the President of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations.
