Connecting women-owned businesses to East Asian markets
This is the topic as well as the goal set up at the Forum held by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group in cooperation with WEConnect on September 29. This is the side event in the event chain of APEC Policy Partnership on Women and the Economy 2017 Forum taking place in Hue.
The forum attracts the participation of about 200 Vietnamese and East Asian delegates
The forum attracted the participation of about 200 Vietnamese and East Asian delegates to come and discuss the solutions to connect women-owned businesses with the value chain, supply chain and financial services in East Asian area, contributing to support APEC and ABAC goals of gender equality
"We change the perception of the women-owned small and medium businesses sector after recognizing the challenges. It's time for banks to look at women-owned and small businesses as a distinct and strategic part of customers, with products and services suitably designed to exploit Vietnamese business women’s potentiality, " Kyle Kelhofer, IFC Country Director for Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos said
In the framework of the forum, IFC also introduced the survey report "Women-owned businesses in Vietnam: Conceptions and Potentialities".
