In addition, the thesis also studies the distribution, the cultural and historical factors associated with the appearance, existence and development of Hue’s yellow apricot blossom, as well as the genetic relationship of Hue’s yellow apricot blossom with other yellow apricot blossom varieties. In addition, a set of specific molecular markers to identify Hue’s yellow apricot blossom and its propagation processes will be developed.

The outcomes of the thesis are expected to contribute significantly to building Thua Thien Hue to become the land of yellow apricot blossom of Vietnam, towards building Thua Thien Hue into an environmentally friendly and smart city of heritage, culture, ecology and landscape.

After reviewing the documents and appraising the research proposal of the thesis, the advisory council assessed that the Center for Flowers and Ornamentals Research and Development, the Fruit and Vegetable Research Institute was capable and qualified to meet the requirements of the thesis. Thus, this unit has been chosen to implement the thesis. As expected, the thesis will be implemented with a funding of nearly 2 billion VND; of which the State budget is nearly 1.9 billion VND.
