Developing plans for socio-economic development and public investment in the Central and Highland regions
On August 12, the Conference "Building plans for socio-economic development and public investment in 2020, period 2021 -2025, in the Central and Highland regions" took place in Hue City.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Duc Trung said that the conference would focus on clarifying some issues such as assessing the implementation of socio-economic development and public investment in the first 6 months of 2019 and make estimations for the year-end; focusing on difficult issues, shortcomings and existing problems so that the Ministry could suggest solutions.
Chairman of Thua Thien - Hue Provincial People's Committee Phan Ngoc Tho affirmed that the province will accompany and exchange information with provinces and cities in the Central - Highland region. Thua Thien Hue will try its best in linking with other provinces and cities to develop the region. However, the province needs attention and support from the Central Government, ministries and branches in developing regional development strategies and plans. There should be specific mechanisms and preferential policies in mobilizing and allocating resources for the region in 2020 and in the period of 2021 - 2025, in order to create links and promote fast and sustainable socio-economic development in the region. ...
Through this conference, the Ministry of Planning and Investment will develop a plan for 2020 and forecast potential issues arising in the implementation of the plan. The ministry will also propose to the Prime Minister to recommend solutions for the difficulties and obstacles of the provinces and cities; set out the principles and criteria to complete and accelerate the implementation of national target programs, national key projects and key projects which have great significance for the promotion of socio-economic development and linkage of the whole country...
