Exchanging experience in cultural heritage preservation

TTH.VN - On September 21-23 in Hue city, the Department of Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the 2017 seminar-training in the cultural heritage sector. The event aimed to provide knowledge and introduce current world trends in the work of preserving and promoting cultural heritage values ​​for the staff doing this work across the country.

The seminar-training focuses on introducing international conventions and reports on the development of Vietnamese laws; the protection system of the intangible cultural heritages of Japan; research on international and national laws on the protection of cultural heritages, the differences in conventions of world heritages and intangible cultural heritages; research on the relationship between culture and human development so as to create a favorable environment for the people to enjoy cultural values; UNESCO policies for tasks on culture and sustainable development...

Magical masterpiece "Long van khe hoi"

The painting "Long van khe hoi" (Nine dragons in the clouds) is a masterpiece on the ceiling of the old main hall of Dieu De Pagoda, which has been moved around 20 meters backward, and is currently being well preserved to the surprise of many. The painting used to be a topic of heated debate for many years regarding whether to keep in the old main hall or to dismantle it. Dismantling it also meant erasing this masterpiece.

In the process of digitalizing ancient documents about Can Chanh Palace, Nguyen Tan Anh Phong and his collaborators discovered one of the two glass paintings currently hung at the Department of History, College of Sciences, Hue University is the precious painting which used to belong to Can Chanh Palace in the Imperial City.

Provincial leader meets with French Ambassador to Vietnam
