The exhibition introduced to viewers 16 artworks Summi Matzke created in different countries such as India, Sri Lanka, Germany and Vietnam. Using acrylic material on burlap fabric, the artist performed the portrait of Buddha with a sincere admiration. As a Buddhist, the exhibition was an opportunity for the artist to introduce her paintings to friends and Buddhists on the occasion of visiting Hue.
Summi Matzke's real name is Thanh Dung. She was born in Ho Chi Minh city and is now living in Germany. Before leaving Vietnam to Germany to specialize in painting in 1997, Thanh Dung Matzke had a gallery named Spring in Ho Chi Minh city. However, she did not draw according to orders nor depending on the emotions of others, but only hold the brush when there was true artistic vibe.
