Funding and implementation of sustainable development projects for Southeast Asian cities

TTH.VN - This is the theme of the Southeast Asian mayors’ conference held by the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF), the European Union (EU) in collaboration with Hue City People's Committee on December 14-15.

Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Member of the Central Party Committee, Deputy Foreign Minister; Mr. Pierre Baillet, AIMF Permanent Secretary and the Southeast Asian mayors participated in the conference.

AIMF has introduced many urban development initiatives and co-operated with local leaders in funding and implementation of sustainable development projects, aiming at the balanced management and planning of urban spaces, associated with the sustainable development of the regional cities in general and Hue in particular.

The delegates has exchanged important issues such as the experience in resilience to climate change in the region, the cities’ roles in enhancing regional integration, practical experience in cooperation among cities of the Southeast Asia.

The conference is a forum for the mayors, government representatives and experts from AIMF member cities as well as the partner organizations to meet and exchange experience in mobilizing financial resources for sustainable urban development projects, thereby sharing issues that requires coordination in resolution.
