Groundbreaking ceremony for the overall conservation and restoration project of Thai Hoa palace
Hue Monuments Conservation Center has just held a groundbreaking ceremony for the overall conservation and restoration project of Thái Hòa palace.
Approved for implementation by the Provincial People's Committee with a total investment of over 128 billion VND, the overall conservation and restoration project of Thái Hòa palace officially began on November 23rd, 2021 and is expected to be completed on August 23rd, 2025.
The project will repair and reinforce the foundation, restore the tiled floor, bluestone steps, brick walls to their original colors; repaire and restore the wooden frame system, the roof system, the wooden wall and plank system. Other tasks involve gilding, covering the roof with porcelain tiles and yellow glazed liệt tiles, inlaying the roof’s edge and sacred animal decorations with crockery, and restoring the enamel decoration system, just to name a few.
