Growing 120 new ironwood trees at the Tree-growing Tet launching ceremony
On the morning of February 22, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a ceremony to launch the "Tree-growing Tet to express Gratitude to Uncle Ho" in the spring of the year of the Dog 2018.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong launched the celebration of the "Tree-growing Tet to express Gratitude to Uncle Ho" in the year of the Dog 2018. Accordingly, in 2018, the whole province will strive to plant trees on about 6,000 hectares, increasing the forest coverage to over 57%.
In 2017, the whole province planted trees on over 5,500 ha and nearly 1 million scattered trees, managed to protect the existing forest areas, increased the forest coverage in the province to 57%, and became one of the best provinces at implementing forest protection and development.

Up to now, there are 643 households and 1 state forestry company engaged in large timber forestation business with the FSC certification of sustainable forest on nearly 6,000 ha.
After the ceremony, 120 new ironwood trees were planted in the area of Quang Trung Memorial Site.
