Hue city hosts an exhibition of 22 lacquer paintings on the theme of “Time”
“Time” is the theme of the lacquer painting exhibition hosted at the French Institute in Hue city on the afternoon of February 25th.
The exhibition introduces to audience various creative styles of lacquer art
The above 22 lacquer works were painted by 11 painters, including Nguyen Duc Huy, Nguyen Duc Phuoc, Le Phan Quoc, Vo Quang Phat, Yoshifumi Hama, Nguyen Thi Xuan Oanh... The exhibition displayed different perspectives on lacquer art. They were the Buddhism’s philosophy in Vo Quang Phat’s paintings, the pure dream of Luong Thi Anh Tuyet or the simple and cute life of Yoshifumi Hama... The lacquer technique was also expressed in different styles of smoothness, roughness, transparency and gloss...
On the theme of “Time”, the exhibition conveyed a message to its audience that in the lacquer art, time is the age of painters; it also changes their emotions, choices of topics, art images, colour scale..., and the painter’s way of thinking about him/herself and the materials they use. So, the history of lacquer art has been formed for hundreds of years without a pause.
The exhibition will take place until March 13th.
