Hue City: "The whole country in a strip" 2021 bicycle race

The 10th stage of the 33rd Vietnam National Men's Multi-day Bicycle Stage Race - HTV Cup 2021 themed “The whole country in a strip”, Quang Binh – Hue City, finishes at Phu Van Lau (Pavilion of Edicts) in Hue city at noon April 16th.

In this 162km-long race, Nguyen Truong Tai from Ho Chi Minh City-Vinama amazingly accelerated to join the leading group in the last 5km. In the distance of final 500 meters, thanks to his wise choice of position and ability to ride in short bursts to reach the speed of 70km/h, this rider surpassed his teammate Le Nguyet Minh and his rival Nguyen Tan Hoai from Dong Thap Domesco Pharmaceutical, who are competing every turn to become the winner of the 10th stage.

This is quite a surprising result, for cyclist Nguyen Truong Tai was not appreciated as highly as the other two – cyclists Le Nguyet Minh and Nguyen Tan Hoai, prior to this stage. With the victory in this 10th stage, cyclist Nguyen Truong Tai narrowed the gap to only 1 second compared with the foreign cyclist from Dong Nai team who is holding the yellow shirt.

After finishing at the Pavilion of Edicts, the riders will start the 11th stage of Truong Tien - Phu Xuan (20 rounds with a distance of 42 km) tomorrow at 8 am, April 17th.

Afterwards, on the morning of April 18th, the racing team will continue to compete for the 12th stage: Hue City - Da Nang City with a distance of 100km. This is one of the most intense stages of the tournament when the racing cyclists have to overcome 3 passes, namely Phuoc Tuong, Phu Gia and Hai Van.

Starting from April 6th to 30th, the 33rd Vietnam National Men's Multi-day Bicycle Stage Race - HTV Cup 2021 themed "The whole country in a strip - Triumph of the will" attracts more than 100 cyclists from the Vietnamese Youth Team and 14 of the most powerful cycling clubs throughout the country.

At the race, the athletes will conquer 22 stages with a total route distance of 2,450 km, passing through the provinces of Cao Bang, Lang Son, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Hanoi, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Lam Dong, Dong Nai.
