Hue hosts a very first Vegetarian Cuisine Festival 2019 from May 17th to 19th
The Vegetarian Cuisine Festival will be an opportunity for the province to introduce its unique and quintessential features of Hue Vegetarian Cuisine, honor artisans, chefs, collectives and those who devote themselves to the sustainable development of culinary culture, especially the vegetarian cuisine.

On the occasion of Vesak 2019, Thua Thien Hue Tourism Association in collaboration with the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Thua Thien Hue will host the Hue Vegetarian Cuisine Festival 2019 from May 17th to 19th, 2019 at Hai Ba Trung Park, Le Loi Street, Hue City. It is expected that the Festival will include 40 food stalls and booths for introducing vegetarian food products from branded hotels and member pagodas of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Thua Thien Hue. In addition, some pagodas and enterprises from Hanoi, Danang, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Nam province, and a number of enterprises from Savannakhet Province - Laos, Mukdahan province - Thailand and Taiwan (China) will also attend this festival.
In the framework of the festival, the organizers will also host a Flower-garlands and colored lanterns festival and a seminar on Vegetarian Cuisine at Hue pagodas, vote and rank Top 10 vegetarian dishes at Hue Vegetarian Cuisine Festival 2019.
According to Thua Thien Hue Tourism Association, Hue Vegetarian Cuisine Festival 2019 aims to enrich the process of the development of the “Hue - the Capital of Gastronomy” project to 2025, with a vision to 2030 of Hue province and contribute to promoting the image of Hue’s tourism and Hue’s cuisine to domestic and foreign tourists.
At the same time, the Festival will be an opportunity for relevant stakeholders and enterprises to network and develop their action programs for professional exchange in food processing and in professional labor force; to sign contracts for importing and exporting raw materials and food to diversify culinary products for tourist attracting and serving.
