Incense offering ceremony for the death anniversaries of the Nguyen Emperors

Hue Monuments Conservation Center has just coordinated with the Nguyễn Phúc Tộc Executive Council to organize an incense offering ceremony for the 476th death anniversary of Emperor Triệu tổ Tĩnh and 256th death anniversary of the Emperor Thế tông (who is more commonly known as Lord Nguyễn Phúc Khoát) on June 29th (the 20th day of the 5th lunar month).

Emperor Triệu tổ Tĩnh was the father of Lord Nguyễn Hoàng - the first of the Nguyễn Lords who ruled the southern provinces of Đàng Trong (the Inner Realm). Emperor Triệu tổ Tĩnh lived at the end of the Later Le dynasty and was bestowed the title An Thành Hầu.

Lord Nguyễn Phúc Khoát was the 8th Nguyễn Lord who ruled the Inner Realm from 1738 to 1765. His reign contributed to the most significant period of territorial expansion in Vietnamese history towards the south. Lord Nguyễn Phúc Khoát is also considered the ancestor of the five-paneled Ao Dai.
