International Press Conference on the 11th Hue Festival in 2020

On the afternoon of December 17, 2019, in Hanoi, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province collaborated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Information and Communications to organize an international press conference to introduce the 11th Hue Festival in 2020.

Attending the press conference were representatives of relevant ministries and agencies; Embassies of countries in Vietnam, representatives of sponsors and journalists from domestic and international news agencies.

Speaking at the press conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Hue Festival 2020 Standing Committee Mr. Nguyen Dung said that Hue Festival 2020 with the theme “Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development - Hue is always new” will be opening on Wednesday 01/4/2020 and closing on Monday 6/4/2020.

The Festival will include unique art programs, bearing the marks of typical cultural regions of Vietnam and dozens of countries around the world. At the same time, it will be an opportunity to promote Hue - a cultural city, a heritage city, a Festival city, a green city, a typical tourist city of Vietnam. It will also be an opportunity to introduce to domestic and international visitors the quintessence of traditional and Hue royal court arts.

Especially, participating in Hue Festival will also be an opportunity to learn, visit and experience the unique values ​​of 5 UNESCO-recognized Heritage Sites: Complex of Hue Monuments (1993), Hue Royal Court Music (2003), Nguyen Dynasty Woodblocks (2009), Imperial Records of the Nguyen Dynasty (2014); Poetry on Hue Imperial Architecture (2016) and 2 intangible cultural heritages that Hue co-owns: The Art of Bai Choi in Central Vietnam and Practices Related to Vietnamese Beliefs in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms.

The Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2020 added that this year's Hue Festival will include more than 20 international art troupes with diverse art types, from countries such as Korea, Japan, Singapore, the Philippines, China, Israel, France, Russia, Belgium, Denmark, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, the USA, Mexico, Colombia, Cuba, Australia, Egypt ... which promise to bring exciting and spectacular multicultural performances.
