Introducing the book “There is no cultural identity”

TTH.VN - On the morning of July 12th, Vietnam National Sub-Institute of Culture and Arts in Hue city and Hue College of Foreign Languages - Hue University launched the newly published book “Không có bản sắc văn hóa” (There is no cultural identity) translated by Truong Quang De from Francois Jullien's original French work “Il n'y a pas d'identite culturelle” (2016).

The work sets a new way to re-approach the concept of cultural identity in the dynamics of culture without being stigmatized in prejudices and rigid patterns.

At the event, the translator shared with readers the bond leading him to this book and the motivation urging him to translate its original French edition into Vietnamese, and discussed a number issues including the book content with a  reference from the perspective of history and culture and research on the history of Vietnamese cultural in general and that of Hue - and the Central region in particular; and the book content from the perspective of translation, research methods and approaches.
