Jubilant early spring with wrestling festival in Thu Le village
As every year, on the morning of the 6th day of Canh Ty Lunar New Year (January 30), a flood of people flocked to Thu Le village (Sia town - Quang Dien distrist) to attend traditional wrestling festival in early spring.
The Organizing Board gave drum and whistle to Thu Le village's seniors and the referees before the opening ceremony
In addition to promoting the martial spirit, wrestling festival is an opportunity to select promising athletes to add them to the provincial wrestling team to participate in national and international tournaments every year.
In addition to the traditional and free contents as usual, this year's festival also adds two contents into the competition, including a content for teens who are students of secondary schools in Quang Dien district and another one for local young people from Quang Phuoc commune, Thu Le 2 and Thu Le 3 residential areas.
According to Mr. Phan Thanh Hai - Director of Department of Culture & Sports, adding new contents is aimed at encouraging the people in the locals in particular and in the province in general to practice and compete so as to continue spreading the sport, which promoted the martial spirit of the ancient capital.
