On October 9, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Phan Ngoc Tho had a working session with representatives of Korea Land & Housing Group (LH Group).

The representatives of the group were pleased to know that Hue is a locality visited by many Koreans, and many Korean businesses have come to seek investment opportunities. They desired the province to continue promoting the strengths of Hue Monuments Complex to develop tourism and high-tech industry.
The LH Group, belonging to the Government of Korea, is a unit with total assets of 126 billion USD, specializing in constructing and developing economic, industrial areas and smart urban ones. Currently, the group desires to sign a memorandum of understanding with the province to set up a high-tech economic zone in Chan May-Lang Co.
Chairman Phan Ngoc Tho introduced the potentials and strengths of Thua Thien Hue in various fields, including Chan May-Lang Co economic zone - a marine economic zone which is specially attented by the Government with a lot of favours. In particular, the province prioritizes the development of economic infrastructure of Chan May urban area and port, and high-tech industrial park, which are the strengths of the Korean group.
The Chairman assigned the Management Board of the provincial economic and industrial zones to cooperate and work specifically with the representatives of the LH Group to come to an agreement on a memorandum of cooperation as a basis for forming a Vietnam-Korea high-tech industrial zone with an area of about 500ha in Chan May-Lang Co. The province will support and create the best conditions for LH Group in carrying out their investment procedures.
