More than 100 images and documents of Mau Than Spring campaign in 1968 introduced in Hue

TTH.VN - The exhibition of "Hue - Offensive, Uprising, Bravery and Resilience" has just opened at Hue Museum of Culture, introducing to the public more than 100 images, documents and memorabilia of cadres, soldiers and people of the city who directly joined in the Mau Than Spring campaign in 1968 in Hue.

Visiting the exhibition

This is a continuation of the series of activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Mau Than General Offensive and Uprising in Spring 1968. The exhibition is an effort of the officials of Hue Museum of Culture, with the support of the departments, unions, units, families, researchers, veterans, etc., contributing to the affirmation of the historical significance and great values of the Mau Than General Offensive and Uprising in Spring 1968 in Hue.

Ms. Nguyen Hong Hoa Tranh, Director of Hue Museum of Culture said: "Via this exhibition, we hope the people of Hue nowadays, especially the young generation understand more about patriotism and heroic examples with the determined fighting spirit of Hue troops and people, especially the resounding victory to control Hue for 26 days and nights, rewarded with eight golden words of “Offensive, Uprising, Bravery and Resilience". This fosters the city residents’ will and spirit of dedication to renovate the motherland.”

On the occasion of a recent working trip to Hue and attending a conference themed “The modernization process in Hue and Central Vietnam during the French colonial period”, a delegation of experts and scientists from France and Japan had a visit and working session with Hue Monuments Conservation Center at Tang Thu Lau (Archive Pavilion).

130 rare Sino-Vietnamese Demotic documents, including conferring ordinance, recognitions, diplomas, and other documents, which have been digitized and reconstructed, have just been exhibited and showcased to the public by Thua Thien Hue General Library on the morning of December 15 at the library space (29A Le Quy Don street, Hue City).
