New US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City paid a visit to Hue

At the meeting, Consulate General Marie C. Damour was delighted, sharing with Secretary of the Provincial Party Le Truong Luu and leaders of relating departments and agencies about her decision to visit Thua Thien Hue province only one month after her inauguration. According to Consulate General Marie C. Damour, Thua Thien Hue province has had various cooperation programs with the US Government.

Welcoming Consulate General Marie C. Damour, Secretary of the Provincial Party Le Truong Luu informed her of some prominent contents in various fields of cooperation between US investors and Thua Thien Hue province in recent times; meanwhile, he affirmed that in the coming time, the province would like to receive cooperation in the fields of tourism, climate change prevention, addressing the post war consequences of bomb and mine; and education and training.

Consulate General Marie C. Damour said that in 2020, Vietnam and the United States would reevaluate the period of 25 years after the formal normalization of diplomatic relations between the United States of America and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Therefore, the issues that Thua Thien Hue concerns would be the foundation and the motivation for the two countries to develop together.

This was also a favorable opportunity for US investors to come and cooperate. The US government would continue to address the issues on dealing with the aftermaths of the war including the leftover wartime bombs and mines. The US Government was also very interested in cooperating in other fields including cultural exchanges and renovating historic relics; sustainable and renewable energy…
