Over 200 wrestlers competes at the National Freestyle and Classical Wrestling Championship in Hue city
Starting on the morning of August 9th at Thua Thien Hue Provincial Sports Center, the National Freestyle and Classical Wrestling Championship gathered more than 200 wrestlers from 18 provinces, cities and sectors across the country.

At the tournament, wrestlers competed for 33 sets of medals, including 11 sets for classical wrestling, 11 sets for men’s freestyle wrestling and 11 sets for women’s freestyle wrestling. The top 3 positions would be a competition among units with great tradition such as Hanoi, Army, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Ninh Binh...
Participating the tournament with 11 athletes of men’s and women’s freestyle contents, the home team of Thua Thien Hue province set a target of 1 gold medal with the outstanding wrestler Nguyen Thi My Hanh, who won the bronze medal at ASIAD 18.
According to Hue’s team coach Dinh Van Kien, this was not only the biggest tournament of the year but also a competition tournament to obtain nominations to compete at SEA Games 30 in the Philippines later this year.
The tournament would end on August 13.
