At the meeting, the representative of KRRI Group introduced an overview of production and business activities. At the same time, he expressed his wish to study and implement a green traffic project in Thua Thien Hue; in which, the group will coordinate with SMS Hue Co., Ltd. to make a pre-feasibility report to implement the “tram” and “electric bus” within 6 months, then to recommend next investment and implementation steps basing on this report.

It is expected that the tram will connect districts and towns with Hue city center by a modern and advanced transport model.

In addition, Post Media Company also proposed to conduct a pre-feasibility study for the Smart bike-sharing scheme, following GIZ's pilot project – the pilot project of bike-sharing system in 6 months and then, it will sponsor 1,000 bicycles for Hue city.

Currently, after 2 months of being implemented, the pilot project of the bike-sharing system has received a positive response from residents and visitors, with a large number of bicycles being used. In the early morning and late evening, the demand for public bicycles exceeds the number of available bikes.

Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong highly appreciated the idea and determination to study the green transport system of KRRI Group and Post Media Company. The Chairman was unanimous in the proposal to research and build an overall green-oriented public transport system for the whole province. At the same time, he suggested that relevant departments and branches coordinate and guide related procedures, creating the best conditions for companies in the research process.

Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized that in order to preserve and promote the heritage city and develop it towards an ecological city, the public transport infrastructure system in the direction of green traffic is one of the important priorities of Thua Thien Hue Province in the coming time to be implemented in the direction of developing Hue into a green and clean city.

In addition, with its own advantages, sharing-bike is a perfect choice to solve the problem of connecting the public transport system, as well as being an ideal vehicle for green traffic trend and sustainable development of a clean tourist city, a Festival city.
