Painting exhibition of the late painter Buu Chi in HCMC

In remembrance of the late painter Buu Chi, an exhibition with the theme "The Time Captured Hand" has been held at Rei Artspace located at Number 371 Alley 4 on Hai Ba Trung Street, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City from the December 11th this year to January 4th, 2023.

The exhibition introduces 30 works with various materials such as lacquer, canvas, and paper in the collection of Rei Artspace as well as some works borrowed from other collectors.

In addition to Buu Chi's artworks and stories, the exhibition also introduces to the public the eponymous limited edition art book "The Time Captured Hand", including a biography of Buu Chi, his works and articles about him.

Born in 1948 in Hue, the painter Buu Chi graduated from Hue University of Law in 1971. He was famous before 1975 with a series of iron-pen - black ink paintings denouncing war crimes and the Saigon prison regime while calling for peace and national independence.
