Plan to relocate more than 4,200 households out of Hue Citadel
The plan to relocate more than 4,200 households mentioned above has been built by Hue Monuments Conservation Centre. Accordingly, nearly 3,000 households will be relocated in phase 1 (2019 - 2021), and more than 1,200 other households will be relocated in phase 2 (2022 – 2025).

Inform to media at the meeting and at the visit to the relics area on the morning of October 20, leader of Hue Monuments Conservation Centre said that there are about 4,200 households living in the protected area of the Complex of Hue Monuments, concentrated in the areas of Thuong Thanh - Eo Bau, Ho Thanh dyke, Kham Thien Giam, Luc Bo, Tinh Tam lake, Hoc Hai lake, Xa Tac platform and Tran Binh tower …Accordingly, the relics are encroached to house and produce. This has been taking place seriously.
Expected funding for relocation and ground clearance in two phases is about 2,735 billion VND, proposed to be supported by the central government. The investment cost to build a resettlement area of 73 hectares for the first phase is 946 billion VND coming from the local budget (from the income of ticket sales to visit monuments, tourist services and other lawful sources, of which there are a loan of 200 billion VND of the State Treasury). The investment cost for the construction of 32 hectares of resettlement area in the second phase is 416 billion VND belonging to the local budget.
