Planning irrigation to adapt to climate change
According to the Planning of irrigation in Thua Thien Hue province up to 2025 with a vision to 2035, planning aims to exploit and use water sources effectively, be active in preventing and mitigating disasters, and adapt to climate change and sea level rise.

In this planning, the infrastructure of the irrigational system will be gradually improved; at the same time, it is necessary to modernize the management and exploitation to contribute to sustainable socio-economic development, carrying out the duty of restructuring the agricultural sector; contribute to new countryside construction and environmental protection; and minimize the damage and negative effects caused by water to meet the requirements of provincial socio-economic development in the future.
Total investment of the whole region is estimated at VND 11,939 billion, in which the period 2017-2025 is 6,040 billion.
