Student of Quoc Hoc High School wins gold medal at International Biology Olympiad 2020

It is a good news for Thua Thien Hue education as Ho Viet Duc, a 12th grade student of Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted, won a gold medal at International Biology Olympiad hosted by Japan.

After Truong Dong Hung, this is the second gold medal at International Biology Olympiad (IBO) of Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted.

In the complicated context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the teams in different countries took the online exams (Remote Access Exams) in accordance with the Regulations of the International Biological Olympiad. The Vietnamese team competed in Hanoi and was managed and monitored online via the real-time camera system of the Organizing Committee of the Biological Olympiad in Japan.

Ho Viet Duc has won many awards in the provincial and national contests. In 2017 – 2018 academic year, he won a gold medal at the Olympic competition for students of high schools for the gifted in the coastal area and the Northern Delta. In 2018 – 2019 academic year, he won the first prize at the provincial level contest and the second prize at the national level one. In particular, in the National Excellent Student Competition in 2019-2020 academic year, Ho Viet Duc won the first prize in biology.
