"The Capital of Gastronomy" - promoting Hue cuisine
Among the most important activities of the conference "Tourism Development in the Central - Central Highland in 2019", on the evening of February 15, the Gala Dinner introducing the brand name "Hue - The Capital of Gastronomy", and the art program of “Am sac Hoang Cung” (“Timbres of the Imperial Palace”) were taken place at Can Chanh Palace yard, Hue Citadel.

The event was a place to meet and exchange culture; promote and introduce dishes from the royal court to the folks, restored and preserved by Hue artisans.
The Gala Dinner was attended by nearly 500 guests including leaders of the Party, the State, the central Ministries, Departments, branches, and leaders of 19 provinces and cities in the Central - Central Highland, diplomatic representative agencies, international organizations, businesses, economic and tourism experts, etc., who participated in the conference “Tourism Development in the Central - Central Highland in 2019”.
Speaking at the Gala Dinner, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho shared that Hue cuisine was the crystallization of the creative process of many generations, giving Hue 1,700 dishes from the royal court to the folks, in the total of some 2,400 dishes of the whole country.
Hue cuisine is the interference of many regions; it is the blending, crystallizing and spreading of various cultural regions, so that “Hue - The Capital of Gastronomy” is proudly recorded on the world food map.
"The dishes introduced in the Gala Dinner show the creativity, with the desire to make Hue cuisine brand name become a national cultural product, and a tourism resource to contribute to building the image of Hue in particular and Vietnam in general, a prominent destination of the region and the world.
“The Gala Dinner is the prelude to the affirmation of the People and authorities of Thua Thien Hue in the process of building the image of ‘Hue - The Capital of Gastronomy’,” Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho said.
