The Imperial City Night Quarter to be launched from January 1, 2022
From January 1, 2022, Hue City will officially put the Imperial City Night Quarter into operation in order to create opportunities for tourism development towards the socio-economic recovery in the area.
A perspective of Hue Imperial City Night Quarter
As planned, in the first phase, the city will build the Night Quarter on Le Huan Street and the August 23 Street so as to meet the visitors and the locals’ needs of experiencing and learning about Hue culture via activities simulating the Nguyen Dynasty festivals, folk art, activities of street festivals, shopping for Hue specialties, exchanging community cultural activities, as well as discovering Hue cuisine.
This is the groundwork for the formation of the Imperial City Night Quarter on the streets of the August 23, Le Huan, Dang Thai Than, and Doan Thi Diem in order to gradually link it with other important areas within the Royal City, including the Tinh Tam Lake - Hoc Hai Lake; the Tang Tho Lau; the Tran Binh Dai - small Mang Ca garrison area; the Ngu Ha River and Thuong Thanh - Eo Bau space.
Operating time is expected from 19h00 to 23h00, every Friday and Saturday; operation scope (in phase one) is from the The Nhon Gate to the August 23 Street, and the Le Huan route from the Nam Thang Fortress to Yet Kieu Street.
In term of the operating scale, it is expected to arrange 28 stalls and four areas for cultural and experiences activities at the park on Le Huan Street. Hue City is now encouraging individuals and organizations wishing to do their business in displaying and selling items such as lanterns, textiles, Thanh Tien paper flowers, Truc chi art, as well as products made from lotus, etc.; and stalls displaying traditional handicraft products and Hue cuisine, etc.
In addition, street art activities will also be integrated and arranged so as to create a cultural space with various unique types, which will be held by the Center for Culture, Information and Sports of Hue City. They include the lion and unicorn dance festival at the Noon Gate Square, the Tay Khuyet Dai, and the performance on the route of the August 23 Street and Le Huan Street; the Ao dai festival on the August 23 Street and Le Huan Street; the lantern festival at the August 23 park space; and the light festival at the August 23 and Le Huan space.
