The project ‘Smart Management Center in Thua Thien Hue province’ won the prize for the category “Asia’s most innovative smart city project” at Telecom Asia Awards 2019.

The organizing committee of the Telecom Asia Awards has just released the list of winning businesses. Accordingly, Viettel Group won awards in two categories. The project ‘Smart Management Center in Thua Thien Hue’ won the prize for the category Asia’s most innovative smart city project; and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam – CEO of Mytel (Viettel’s brand name in Myanmar) in the period of 2017 – 2018, who is working as the Vice managing director of Viettel Group was recognized as the CEO of the year.
The smart management center in Thua Thien Hue province has been deployed and come into operation by Viettel since 2018. This is the project constructed by Viettel following the requirement and characteristics of the province, and it is also the highlight of the project recognized by Telecom Asia Awards 2019.
The organizing committee highly appreciated the intelligence and the suitableness with Thua Thien Hue province’s characteristics of the project, ensuring the development in a modern way, improving the experience of local people and tourists but still preserving the ancient features of the historical and cultural center of the country.
Reportedly, Telecom Asia Awards has been held annually since 1997; it is the oldest award of Asia for telecommunication.
