At present, only three Odonto-Stomatology training units in Vietnam have received the review and consultation from the Association, namely: Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Odonto-Stomatology Training Center, Hanoi Medical University and Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

In the trend of learner-centered education in Vietnam, the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy is renewing and reforming the curriculum with the active student-centered teaching method, instead of the previous teacher-centered one. "Southeast Asia has reformed its training program for Odonto-Stomatology doctors to this direction to achieve the goals that after graduation Odonto-Stomatology doctors will meet its output standards and competence standards in line with the core competencies of SEAADE, so that they can practice in the ASEAN Economic Community. In the trend of integration, all educational institutions in the region need to renovate their training programs to fit SEAADE's general development trend," said Dr. Tran Tan Tai.

In the framework of the review and consultation program on the training of Odonto-Stomatology doctors, the experts of the SEAADE have conducted specific reviews and consultations on the training program of Odonto-Stomatology doctors at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. The delegation highly evaluated the quality of training, especially the teaching capacity of the lecturers in the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology. It is also proposed that the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology should have student and lecturer exchange programs with other Odonto-Stomatology institutions in Southeast Asia.
On this occasion, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology held a workshop on educational reform with the participation of experts from the SEAADE.
"The Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy is building and will begin implementing the reformed dental education program in the next academic year for first-year students and the students of previous years, so that graduated Odonto-Stomatology students can meet the output standards set by Vietnam's Ministry of Health and the output standards of Southeast Asia. The application of this program will bring more employment opportunities for students, meeting the needs of regional integration," Dr Tran Tan Tai said.
