Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong meets with JICA Senior Advisor
On April 18, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong had a meeting with Ms. Yanagisawa Miki, Senior Advisor of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Volunteer Program, and JICA volunteers working in Thua Thien Hue Province.

At the meeting, Ms. Yanagisawa Miki said that in the framework of Vietnam - Japan Development Cooperation Program, JICA Vietnam Office sent two volunteers of Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) to work in Thua Thien Province from April 9, 2019 to April 8, 2021.
Accordingly, Mr. Nagase Ippei works at Rehabilitation Hospital of Thua Thien Hue Province; and Ms. Shimizu Sayuri works at Fund of Genetic Counseling and Disabled Children.
Thus, with these two new volunteers sent to work at units of Thua Thien Hue Province, the total number of volunteers operating in Hue increases to eight volunteers. So far, JICA has sent 42 volunteers to Thua Thien Hue Province.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong highly appreciated the results of activities and working of JICA volunteers at agencies and units of Thua Thien Hue Province in the previous time. The volunteers have greatly supported the province in the fields of health, education, and agriculture, etc.
In addition, this is also a meaningful activity, and a cultural bridge between Vietnam and Japan in general, and Thua Thien Hue and Japan in particular.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee welcomed volunteers to work in Thua Thien Hue Province; at the same time, he pledged to create all favorable conditions for the volunteers to well implement their assigned tasks during their time working in the province.
