The signing ceremony was held online, with the host of Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, at Thua Thien Hue point. In Hanoi, Mr. Cho Han-Deog, Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Vietnam presided over the ceremony.

The signed project aims to improve human security for the communities in the target areas; enhance sustainable rural development through enhancing sustainable livelihoods and infrastructure for target communities.

The project will be implemented in A Luoi district from 2022 to 2026 with non-refundable aid from the Korean Government to the Provincial People's Committee not exceeding USD 3,229,246.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong appreciated the successes and contributions of KOICA over the past time in many fields in Vietnam, including Thua Thien Hue province. Especially, he also acknowledged the valuable support and assistance for the socio-economic development of the province. In 2022, Thua Thien Hue province continues to cooperate with KOICA in the “Vietnam - Korea Peace Village” Project in A Luoi district, which proves KOICA's special interest in Thua Thien Hue province.

Mr. Cho Han-Deog hopes that, through the project, it will contribute to improving human security for the community, enhancing sustainable rural development, sustainable livelihoods and infrastructure for communities in A Luoi district. At the same time, it will continue to contribute to the goal of long-term and sustainable cooperation between Thua Thien Hue province and Korea in general and KOICA in particular.
