The project of preserving and restoring the gates, screens and miniature landscapes in combination with intensive technical training at Phung Tien palace in Hue Citadel is funded by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the reciprocal budget of the Provincial People's Committee, with the total budget of over VND 3.6 billion.

The project began at the end of 2017 and is expected to complete by October, 2018. With the participation of highly skilled and experienced conservation experts from Germany, six Vietnamese members have access to fresco restoration technique, which is the painting technique on fresh mortar, and the usage of traditional materials. "With the combination of theory and practice, Vietnamese learners grasp new techniques to well restore the next works," said Mr. Le Phuoc Tan, officer of Hue Monuments Conservation Center’s Advisory Board.
