Zhi-Shan Foundation: Continuing to support over VND 4 billion to help children in difficult circumstances

TTH.VN - According to the provincial Children’s Fund, Zhi-Shan Foundation (Taiwan) is committed to fund Thua Thien Hue VND 4.238 billion for the project of scholarships and other components to support children in difficult circumstances in the provincial area in 2018.

Since 2000, that project has given scholarships to 150 students in Phong Dien and Quang Dien suburban districts and Huong Tra town. Until now, the number of children given scholarships has grown up to 728 children/year with the annual fund of over VND 1.5 billion. In addition, Zhi shan Foundation has deployed many other components of the project to support children such as the project of sponsoring 130 children in special difficult circumstances at Duc Son orphanage for 19 years, supporting the construction of  day-boarding preschools, supporting to improve the malnutrition of preschool children and to further qualify the teachers, etc.

Zhi-Shan Foundation is Taiwan’s non-governmental organization which has deployed many long term aid projects in Vietnam. Since 1998, Zhi-Shan Foundation has started sponsoring scholarship to children in Quang Tri, and this organization is currently deploying many assistant components in the fields of health care and education for children in difficulties in six Central provinces including Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An and Quang Ngai.
