Leader of Thua Thien Hue Province performed the groundbreaking ceremony of the project

The project to preserve, restore and promote the values of Hai Van Gate relic complex, which was set up at the top of Hai Van pass, located in the administrative boundary between Lang Co town (Phu Loc District, Thua Thien Hue Province) and Hoa Hiep Bac ward (Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City), with an area of​​​​about 6,500 square meters. The total investment of the project is more than 42 billion VND, with one half is from the budget of Da Nang City and the other half is from the budget of Thua Thien Hue Province.

The project implementation period is within two years. Hue Monuments Conservation Center has cooperated with the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang City to carry out the project.

The project will restore the gate of Hai Van Gate, the gate of Thien Ha De Nhat Hung Quan according to the original traces; restore and replace the tiled foundation of the gate and the gate with Thanh stones, restore the walls with baked-clay bricks; restore the walls from the Nguyen Dynasty with mountain stones according to archaeological traces and the traces on the side walls of Hai Van Gate and Thien Ha De Nhat Hung Quan; restore the steps route with stones from Hai Van Gate down towards Da Nang City according to the archeological traces, as well as Thien Ly route from Thien Ha De Nhat Hung Quan towards Thua Thien Hue Province with stones following traditional arrangement, etc.

Hai Van Gate relic complex was built in 1826, which was a military fortress guarding at the top of Hai Van pass, right on the border between Thua Thien Hue Province and Da Nang City. This relic was ranked national relic site in 2017 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
