On behalf of the delegation, H.E. Antonio Alessandro, Italian Ambassador to Vietnam, thanked the provincial leaders for the respectful welcome. Mr. Antonio Alessandro said that over the past time, Thua Thien Hue and Italy have had a number of active cooperation programs in the fields of health, culture, education and training, and economy.

H.E. Antonio Alessandro also acknowledged the province's care and support in the implementation of Italian projects in the province, especially the cooperation project with Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy in health development. At the same time, he hopes that in the coming time, Thua Thien Hue province will continue to support to have close cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism and health.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong highly appreciated and thanked the support of the Italian Government and the Italian Embassy in Vietnam recently. Especially in a number of active cooperation programs in the fields of health, culture, education and training, economy, development aid, etc.

Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong wishes to continue to expand friendly cooperation in many fields with the Government and localities of Italy. In particular, it is proposed that the Italian Government and the Italian Embassy in Vietnam continue to help and create favorable conditions for prioritizing funding sources, exchanging experiences and techniques for local projects and programs, especially in the fields of health and education; promoting cooperation activities between Thua Thien Hue province and the Veneto region based on the friendship agreement signed in 2012, especially in the areas of strength of the region such as health, education, lagoon management, etc., at the same time, promoting and calling for businesses to invest in industrial projects, manufacturing, processing agricultural, forestry and fishery products; fashion goods production; resort tourism project and interested in supporting the province in planning, developing tourism, health care, agriculture, fisheries, sustainable management of coastal areas and lagoons in response to climate change.
