The location for setting sharing-bicycles at Toa Kham wharf

Public bicycle-sharing is an activity that lets bicycles be hired for joint use, helping road users to take bicycles from any bike station under the system and ride around the city area, then they can give it back to any other stations (including the base one). This service contributes to making an effective connection with traditional public transport, creating a more complete public transport network, supporting people moving in short distances in city central area.

The first phase will be piloted carrying out at 7 locations, including Eo Bau Nam Xuong, Eo Bau Nam Thang, Nguyen Van Troi park (Doan Thi Diem Street), Toa Kham wharf, Nghinh Luong Dinh park, the parking lot at Ho Chi Minh Museum, and No.11 Le Loi with from 10 – 20 bicycles for each station.

The bicycle management units applying the system would use IT technology to manage operations, at the same time using the common use application in managing bicycle operation with the solution of connecting the application into the Provincial Smart City Monitoring and Controlling Center. Local people and tourists use QR smart keys with GDP coordinates which allows to open/lock the bicycles with QR Code, operated by smartphone scanning. The users have to ensure to have smartphones and online payment methods to be eligible to use this service.
