Racers started the 12th stage
This 113-kilometer stage is considered as a highly arduous route, as the racers have to conquer three passes, including Phuoc Tuong, Phu Gia, and Hai Van. This stage brings the spectacular but also dangerous climbing up and going down the hill phases, requiring high technical levels, along with "cold" heads, and "hot" footwork, especially in the bends at Hai Van Pass.
Before that, racer Phan Nguyet Minh had won the 11th stage from Phu Xuan to Da Vien in Hue City, after a fierce match with dozens of rivals at about 200 meters from the finish line. This is also the 4th time that Phan Nguyet Minh won this stage in the ancient capital within this tournament.
The 2022 - 34th HTV Cycling Tournament with the theme of "Mountains and rivers are one strip – The belief in victory" started in Quang Ninh on April 5. In 23 stages, with a total route of 2,316.2 km, nearly 100 racers from 14 racing teams will pass through the following provinces and cities: Hai Phong, Hanoi, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Dong Nai, and finish in Ho Chi Minh City right on the historic April 30.
