The activity of releasing fish contributing to regenerate the aquatic resources in the Huong River

Around 32.000 fishes of various species including major carps, breams and amurs were released down into the Huong River. This was the third time that the Provincial Sub-department of Fisheries has cooperated with other units to do the aquatic resources regeneration; the total number of released fishes were 178.000; in which, 72.000 fishes were twice released in the Huong River, and the number released at Huong Dien Hydropower Plant was 106.000 fishes.

In the coming time, the province will continue to go free 460.000 freshwater fishes of all kinds, 990.000 fingerling tiger prawns, 17.600 crabs, or rabbitfishes at 22 aquatic resource protection zones, and 8.000 prawns into the sea, etc.

Mrs. Karoline Andaur, Director of the International Organization for Conservation of Nature of Norway said that the work of releasing fish to regenerate aquatic resources in the Huong River is a meaningful activity. Through the implementation of the project “Hue – The City of plastic reduction in Vietnam’s Central Region” in the area of Hue City and the activity of releasing fish to regenerate aquatic resources in the rivers, the International Fund for Conservation of Nature and the Norwegian people feel very happy to join the local government to carry out this significant activity.
