Students visiting the exhibition

The exhibition is displaying nearly 60 photos and books introducing literary and artistic works, which are composed on the background of poetic works, including four themes, namely homeland and family; creative career and contributions to the country's literature; the role and ideological influence of Nguyen Dinh Chieu's poetry and literature on the patriotic movement against the French colonialists; and the provincial Party, the State and people of Vietnam holding gratitude ceremony for the great contributions of cultural celebrity Nguyen Dinh Chieu.

Nguyen Dinh Chieu was born on July 1, 1822 in his mother's hometown in Tan Thoi Village, Binh Duong District, Tan Binh Prefect, Gia Dinh Province, which is now Cau Kho Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

The exhibition highlights the great contributions of cultural celebrity Nguyen Dinh Chieu to the nation, as well as the country's literature. Especially, it educates the younger generation to study and follow the shining example of Nguyen Dinh Chieu in terms of willpower; human ethics; passionate patriotism, and hatred of the enemy. Subsequently, it arouses the national pride and self-respect for all classes of people, and raises the patriotism, the love of socialism, and the spirit of self-reliance to overcome all difficulties.

The exhibition is an activity within the framework of the program “Follow the footsteps of Old Teacher Chieu” on the occasion of the 200th birthday anniversary of the celebrity Nguyen Dinh Chieu (July 1, 1822 - July 1, 2022).
