One of the art troupes performing at street festivals in the previous festivals
Wherever the street art troupe passes, the atmosphere is certainly bustling, stirring up a large stage, surrounded by the applause and cheers of the people and visitors.
Lasting for three days from June 26 to 28, the street festival with the theme "Cultural colors" will bring viewers lost in an "art world" with the participation of art troupes coming from countries such as France, Belgium, Spain, Hungary and famous art troupes familiar in the country and in the province.
The new feature of this year's street art program, according to the Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2022, is the participation of folk festival groups of the districts. There is also a fleet of antique cars moving from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Hue to join the parade with art troupes. Traditional kites will also be taken to the streets, being flown along with dances and music.
The street festival is eagerly awaited
In addition to going through main roads, art troupes will stop to perform at large spaces in the middle of the street such as in front of the south bank of Truong Tien Bridge, Hue Festival Tourism Center, Phu Xuan Bookstore, the last intersection on Tran Hung Dao street, the first part of Gia Hoi bridge, the intersection of Ly Thuong Kiet and Dong Da, the stage in front of the Provincial History Museum, etc.
“The groups will perform sequentially, perform their repertoire with a duration of no more than 4 minutes, then continue to move along the designated route. For some troupes that are not able to move and perform at the same time, they will be arranged to perform first at the highlight spot to stir up and attract the audience, the performance will end when the carnival troupes move in,” said the representative of the Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2022.
Both happy and honored when participating in the street art festival for the first time, the A Luoi art troupe is actively planning and practicing carefully to wait for the opening day of the festival. Bringing to this festival, the art troupe from the western district of the province will re-create the Ada Koonh festival of the Pa Co people - one of the festivals that has been recognized as a National Intangible Heritage.
More than 45 selected artisans, musicians and traditional musical instruments will participate in the A Da Koonh dance performance in a fast and bustling rhythm, along with the movements of offering gifts, showing their costumes, showing bracelets, give thanks to the gods, and wave to the guests.
Ms. Le Thi Them, Head of Culture and Information Department of A Luoi district, said that she was both honored and nervous when participating in a big festival for the first time, having the opportunity to interact with international art troupes.
“Because it is the first time we are able to participate in a street festival, where a large number of international and domestic delegations and artists will participate, we have to prepare and research carefully from the selection of artists to the selection of costumes, traditional musical instruments, etc.,” shared Ms. Them.
According to Ms. Them, besides the efforts to bring viewers special performances, contributing to the success of Hue Festival Week 2022, she also wants to bring the identity and culture of Pa Co people and other ethnic groups in A Luoi come closer to domestic and international friends.
Although the street art festival will officially take place at the end of this month, locals and visitors are both eager and looking forward to it because after a long time they cannot be immersed in the festive atmosphere due to the impact of the pandemic. Attending many festivals, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Van (Hue City) is eagerly waiting for the festival programs in the series of Hue Festival 2022 Week.
Ms. Van said that the "festival party" has a lot of "delicious dishes", but the street art festival is one of the festivals that she enjoys and looks forward to the most.
“Besides artists, art troupes with diverse cultural colors and outdoor stages, there are also many people and tourists attending, creating a truly festive atmosphere. There, everyone mingle together in every dance and song, and walked through the streets where everyone is full of smiles and joy,” said Ms. Van. She excitedly hopes to be immersed in such a festive atmosphere.
