The Gac Trinh Group (2012 - 2015) donated the painting to Hue Museum of Fine Arts
The receiving ceremony of this fine art work was organized by Hue Museum of Fine Arts on the morning of August 5.
The painting of the late musician Trinh Cong Son was painted with oil paint on paper, in a size of 40x15cm. It was painted in 2006, and named “Như là mây giang hồ” ("Like a nomad cloud").
A representative of the Gac Trinh Group (2012 - 2015), Mr. Ho Dang Thanh Ngoc, the writer and the President of Thua Thien Hue Union of Literature and Arts Associations, said that the late artist Dinh Cuong had once brought the fine art work to Hue for an exhibition, held at the Gac Trinh space in 2013.
According to Mr. Ngoc, at that time, the late artist Dinh Cuong brought along a lot of paintings, and held a joint exhibition with another person. Most of the paintings were sold out except two paintings (not for sell). One of them was a painting of Dao Anh; and the other, a painting of his close friend, the late musician Trinh Cong Son.
After that, the late artist donated the painting to the Gac Trinh Group. Afterwards, though the Gac Trinh Group (2012-2015) was no longer active for various reasons, the painting has still been kept and preserved carefully.
Recently, the group has gathered and decided to donate this fine art work to Hue Museum of Fine Arts, as "this museum is a functional and professional place to continue to preserve the fine art work, as well as promoting its value, displaying and introducing it to the public".
At the receiving ceremony, Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, as well as the leader of the Hue Museum of Fine Arts expressed their emotions and joy as the group trusted and donated the precious painting. “The fine art work not only is a beautiful work, but also has a good story inside it. We will keep, preserve and promote the value of the fine art work so as not to disappoint the giver," said Mr. Hai.
