The reenactment scene in the Fish Worshipping Festival of Thai Duong Ha villagers

According to the custom of "tam nien dao le" (a large-scale festival held every three years), the Fish Worshipping Festival of Thai Duong Ha Village this year takes place in a fun and bustling atmosphere, as this traditional festival could not be held due to the impact of the pandemic three years ago.

Right from early morning, in a large space overlooking the water of Tam Giang Lagoon, the festival was held with a vivid reenactment of fishing activities, expressing the wish for a new fishing season, praying for bumper hauls of fish and safe voyages.

After the reenactment, a large number of locals and visitors watched the boat racing festival held on Tam Giang Lagoon. The day before, the village elders had performed the main sacrifice ceremony at the village communal house, and the ceremony to welcome the Thanh Hoang’s (Tutelary god) procession around the village.
