Opening the week of Vietnamese Zen poetry in Hue

The program introduces typical works of Vietnamese Zen poetry. Zen poetry is a line of poetry expressing the meaning of Zen associated with emotions, conveying the perception of the world of Zen, revealing the beauty of the natural world, of the soul in the interplay between the object and the subject of creativity.

The poetic works of Zen masters are considered to be the original foundation of Vietnamese written literature. Representing these Zen poems are Zen masters of the Ly - Tran dynasties, such as Zen Master Van Hanh, Zen Master Man Giac, First Patriarch Truc Lam Tran Nhan Tong, Zen Master Second Patriarch Phap Loa, Third Patriarch Huyen Quang… and many successive generations who wrote for the future generations.

With the beauty of Zen poems transcending between life and religion, the works of Zen masters have contributed their common voice to the continuous flow of Vietnamese culture and literature.
