To pay respect and sincerity to the ancestors, artisans from Da Nang, Hai Phong, Hung Yen and Hue chose 14 valuable works voted at the exhibition to offer to The Mieu in the Imperial Citadel. Being chosen to offer in the ritual were bonsais, including water jasmines, weeping figs, scolopia nanas; while orchids have Phan Tri aloe-leafed cymbidiums, Hue green aloe-leafed cymbidiums, etc.

The ornamental plants chosen to offer into Hue Imperial Citadel would be displayed at Thuong Uyen Garden (royal garden). On April 28, the works of orchids were put up for auction at Duyen Thi Duong Theater. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to Hue Heritage Conservation Fund. This was a meaningful activity, clearly expressing the good deep of the artisans from all three regions in joining hands to the national cultural heritage preservation.

Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, Deputy Head of Hue Festival 2023 Organizing Committee, Director of Hue Monuments Conservation Center said that the Complex of Hue Monuments was a symbol for a typical “landscape architecture” of Hue Ancient Capital. The ancient architectural works were arranged in a poetic and romantic landscape space; various famous royal gardens were also built up.

Together with the development of the royal garden system, the novel and unique flowers and plants from all regions of the country were also offered to Hue Imperial Citadel to beautify the royal garden. Closely following the tradition of the old days, this ritual of offering ornamental plants is considered the starting to spread similar activities in the future.
