The Niem hoa exhibition has captured the attention of art enthusiasts

This is an activity in response to the Vesak 2023. The theme, “Niem hoa,” takes its name from the Buddhist story “Niem hoa vi tieu,” which depicts the birth of Zen in Buddhism. The exhibition showcased 50 artworks, including paintings (acrylic and oil paintings, and torn paper paintings), wood sculptures, statues, ceramics, and cotton shirts created by artists such as Le Thiet Cuong, Chu Hong Tien, Binh Nhi, Nguyen Quoc Thang, Hong Phuong, Dinh Cong Dat, Vu Huu Nhung, Le Ngoc Thuan, and Hoang Phuong Lien. Accordingly, “Niem hoa” in each work brings its unique beauty, coexisting together in multi-color, diversity and multi-dimensionality, and reflecting the serene spirit of Zen brought forth by each artist.

Artist Le Thiet Cuong shared his thoughts: “According to Buddhist beliefs, everyone possesses Buddha-nature, even a blade of grass… Going on a spiritual journey means returning to oneself, seeking one's own intrinsic nature, rather than go reaching somewhere else. When you see your own mind and your nature, you become Buddha; such is the essence, and art is no different. Artists are seekers seeking themselves, finding their own fingerprints, and finding their own unique ways of storytelling, singing, and painting.”

The exhibition runs from June 6 to June 23.
