At the meeting, the Deputy Mayor Kawai Takanori expressed his delight and thanked for the high esteem welcome of the provincial leaders and those from the departments and agencies during their working trip in Thua Thien Hue province.
The Deputy Mayor congratulated to the province on the occasion of the 30th anniversary (1993 - 2023) of the Complex of Hue Monuments and the 20th anniversary (2003 - 2023) of the Royal Music - Vietnam Royal Court Music being recognized as a world heritage by UNESCO.
Mr. Kawai Takanori informed that Thua Thien Hue province and Gifu have a great number of similarities in terms of economy and culture, especially the potential on tourism development thank to the diversity in landmarks, historical and cultural relics, as well as cuisine and craft villages.
The Deputy Mayor desired that in the coming time, the two provinces will keep on boosting cooperation on various fields, including cooperation on tourism development, cultural heritage conservation, training and education, urban investment and development between two localities; creating further conditions for the businesses to research on investment opportunities, as well as cooperating to take employees/vocational students to work in Japan and Gifu Province. Furthermore, he also wanted that the two provinces will push on the activities of people exchanging and cultural exchanging to bring the potential and strength between the two provinces into play; hence, further tightening the cooperation and sustainable friendly relations between Vietnam and Japan in general and between Thua Thien Hue province and Gifu province in particular.

According to Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh, since the two provinces Gifu and Thua Thien Hue established the cooperation relation in November 2016, up to now, many exchange activities on various fields have been held between the two provinces.
Many major Japanese businesses have come to find investment opportunities to Thua Thien Hue and they have implemented many certain cooperation programs in the fields of tourism management and promotion, human resource conservation and training between the two localities. Notably, the project of Aeon Mall Hue is being implemented in the provincial area and expected to be put into operation in late 2024.
The Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh desired that the Deputy Mayor Kawai Takanori continues to promote tourism between the two localities, at the same time, promoting cooperation in the fields such as heritage and culture conservation; commerce, investment, and urban development; training and education, developing human resources, and health, etc. between the two localities. Additionally, he hoped that Mr. Kwai Takanori can be the kink for Japanese businesses in general and those from Gifu Province in particular to explore investment opportunities in Thua Thien Hue Province, enhancing the promotion and cultural exchange, people exchange to contribute to tightening the friendship and cooperation between the two localities.
* On the afternoon of the same day, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Bình also had a meeting with the delegation of Kyoto from Japan led by Mr. Hidekazu Fujimaki, Director of Kyoto Department of Foreign Affairs.

In the framework of the meeting, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh said that over time, Thua Thien Hue and Kyoto have reached many cooperation relations in many fields with high efficiency.
On the occasion of this visit and meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh desired that Kyoto will continue to support the province in promoting tourism environment; holding sessions of training on developing typical tourism products of Thua Thien Hue, which are similar to Kyoto; supporting the project of conservating, restoring relics, and promoting the values of Hue culture to serve Hue urban and tourism development.
Mr. Hidekazu Fujimaki, Director of Kyoto Department of Foreign Affairs, Japan, thanked the warm welcome of provincial leaders and departments and agencies during the trip to Thua Thien Hue, at the same time, he also sent the best wishes on the occasion of Thua Thien Hue’s 30th anniversary (1993 - 2023) of the Complex of Hue Monuments and the 20th anniversary (2003 - 2023) of the Royal Music - Vietnam Royal Court Music being recognized as a world heritage by UNESCO.
2023 is the year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam – Japan diplomatic relations. Therefore, Kyoto also wants to reach more new cooperation in the fields of strengths between the two localities, especially the education as Kyoto is being a locality with multifarious universities and students in Japan, etc.
